M25 rapist gets 12 more years for a ninth attack

Police had feared that Antoni Imiela, known as the M25 rapist for his attacks using the motorway, might be released on parole this year despite being jailed for life in 2004.

Imiela had been convicted at Maidstone crown court of raping seven women and a 10-year-old girl he had kidnapped. The railway maintenance contractor often stole souvenirs or trophies from his victims. After raping a 26-year-old nurse he took her mobile and taunted her mother.

The minimum period he was ordered to serve was completed this month leaving him free to apply to the Parole Board for release. But Imiela has now been found guilty of an identical attack carried out in 1987 — 14 years before his horrifying campaign began.
