Kristi also met her future husband at the Olympic games, retired professional hockey player Bret Hedican. They have two young daughters.

Her family is her top priority now.

"I definitely feel blessed to have Keara and Emma in my life. My family means everything to me," Kristi says.

She wanted to write a children's book, resulting in "Dream Big, Little Pig."

When asked about the illustrations, Kristi replied, "I think Poppy stole some of my moves. I gave the illustrator a picture of me doing a crane move and they copied it exactly."
