BAHRAINIS have been urged to buy locally in a bid to save the country's small and medium-sized enterprises.

Businesses have also called on government institutions and large companies to go local instead of importing goods and services from overseas.

"We want the Tender Board and all Bahraini companies to buy from here and make the Bahraini economy stronger," said Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) board member Khalid Al Amin.

"We are also calling on Saudi Arabia to buy from Bahrain.

"The government is trying to buy from local companies, but we have also asked local companies to support other local companies."
